Let’s put this to the test and find out! Some folks have weighed in on an earlier video of mine saying that running preamps at high levels (+40 - 50dB) introduces extra noise into the measurement and therefore contaminates the data.
Today I run three different test where I analyze the preamps on my Audient EVO 8 interface ($199) and get to the bottom of the issue.
